Fall-planted (early Oct - early Nov in Zone 7), harvested the following June-Aug when the bottom 3-5 leaves brown. Cloves 2-3 in deep, pointy end up. Mulch heavily after planting to insulate against winter and suppress spring weeds. Grown from cloves, not seed — varieties from a 2025 Hudson Valley Garlic Festival haul.
