Picked up at Rose Hill Nurseries; variety wasn't tracked. Needs acidic soil (pH 4.5-5.5) — amend with peat or pine fines and mulch with pine needles or wood chips. Consistent moisture but well-drained. Currently only one bush in the pot; cross-pollination from a second variety would bump yields substantially.
A single bush in the same pot on the deck since 2024. Zero edible fruit through 2024–2025, then suddenly loaded in spring 2026.
I bought this bush from Rose Hill Nurseries without writing the variety down. It set maybe four berries in 2024 that disappeared (birds or squirrels) before any ripened, did nothing in 2025, and then in spring 2026 quietly covered itself in green fruit. Adding a second variety in a neighbor pot is on the list — blueberries set heavier with cross-pollination.

In context on the deck (May 24, 2026) Wider view from the deck — the loaded bush in the foreground, asparagus + blackberry pots just behind. Fruit still green; ripening should kick off mid-June.

Loaded up (May 2026) Whole-plant shot — the bush had stretched up the cage and was carrying clusters at every node.

Fruit setting (May 2026) First time I’ve ever seen this many green berries on the bush. Spent flowers still hanging on the clusters.
